- All recruitment activities must adhere to COVID-19 or other restrictions set by UNC Charlotte, including but not limited to gathering size, social distancing, and mask mandates.
- Chapter meetings and new member/associate education that occurs in person must adhere to UNC Charlotte’s COVID-19 restrictions (on-campus) or North Carolina State mandates (off-campus), including but not limited to gathering size, social distancing, and mask mandates. An option for virtual attendance must be provided to all brothers and new members/associates, and no brother or new member/associates shall be penalized if they choose to attend meetings or education virtually.
- After social privileges have been reinstated, and until the end of Deferred Registration Suspension period, for every social event the Chapter hosts, the Chapter must submit a risk management plan for review to the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life no later than 3 business days prior to the event.
- Loss of Social Privileges effective April 15, 2021, through December 15, 2021. During this period, the organization may not sponsor any activity, party, or function that is social in nature. Violation of the social privileges revocation may result in additional sanctions pursuant to The Code of Student Responsibility.
- Beginning August 23, 2021, Sigma Tau Gamma can petition in writing to the Director of Student Conduct & Academic Integrity or designee to have social privileges reinstated. In order for the request to be considered, Sigma Tau Gamma must:
- Revise the Chapter Risk Management Policy and Procedures document to be approved by the Local Chapter Advisor, and an Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life designee with specific focus on maintaining COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines set forth by UNC Charlotte and North Carolina State mandates.
- Present the Risk Management Policy to the Chapter Executive Board. The content of the presentation will need to be reviewed by Student Conduct & Academic Integrity designee, and Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life designee.
- Attend a meeting between the Executive Board, the Local Chapter Advisor, Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life designee, and Student Conduct & Academic Integrity designee to discuss the petition to have social privileges reinstated. The petition should address, at minimum, how the chapter plans to educate all members to minimize risk, reflect upon the impact the chapter’s actions had on the people and community around them, and outline a plan for how the chapter plans to adhere to and enforce measures to minimize risk at social events.

The presentation must be scheduled by September 30, 2021, and at least 80% chapter and 100% new members/associate attendance is required. Contact Kaela Lindquist, Associate Director of Student Conduct & Academic Integrity, to schedule the presentation.
